Gujarat’s Gandhinagar Station Gets A Facelift; 5-Star Hotel Built On Top

The Gandhinagar Capital railway station in Gujarat has been revamped with facilities like theme-based lighting, art gallery with live LED display, a centralised AC waiting hall,  an inter-faith prayer hall and a baby feeding room to render a world-class experience to passengers. A 5-star hotel has also been built atop the station, which will be inaugurated virtually by PM Narendra Modi on July 16, 2021. The construction of the hotel and the revamping of the railway station had started in 2017.

The 5-Star Hotel Atop The Station Will Have 318 Rooms

The 5-star hotel atop the revamped station covers an area of around 7,400 square meters and will have 318 rooms. The construction cost of the luxury hotel has been around ₹790 crores, as per reports. The hotel can host national and international guests who would come for conferences and seminars at Mahatma Mandir located opposite the hotel. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also attend the inauguration of the hotel virtually.

The station building of Gandhinagar Capital is a 5-star certified green building by GEM. Also, a tweet by the Ministry of Railways reads, “Redeveloped state of the art Gandhinagar Capital station has seamless Aluminium roof covering over all platforms & tracks, which is First of its kind on IR.”

PM Modi To Inaugurate India’s Biggest Aquatic Gallery In Ahmedabad On The Same Day

During the virtual inauguration, PM Modi will also flag off Gandhinagar-Varanasi weekly superfast train and Gandhinagar-Varetha MEMU train. On the same day, PM Modi will also inaugurate an aquatic gallery, a robotic gallery and a nature park at the Science City in Ahmedabad. Also, India’s First Maritime Heritage Complex With World-Class Facilities Will Come Up In Gujarat.

This aquatic gallery will be the largest in India with 68 big tanks to display marine life, including sharks. Reportedly, the gallery also has a 28-meter-long underwater walkway tunnel for observing the marine species.
