Sex, to a large extent, is considered taboo in our country, even today. Moreover, taking precautions while having sex is something not everybody agrees to. The ones who want to use it find it awkward to go to a medical shop and ask for it. Looking at this situation, two mechanical engineers invented a condom vending machine, which is now installed in Surat, Gujarat.

Condom Vending Machine In Surat

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Surat has a condom vending machine installed in the city. The vending machine is installed at Shyam Medical in Dabholi Char Rasta, Surat. This news was shared by @viralbhayani on Instagram some hours ago.

Using this machine is very simple and quick, which makes it a better option than visiting a store and asking for it. There are four types of condoms available in the machine. There are pictures of these condom boxes on the machine, with a button and product number written below them.

The brands available are Manforce and Skore. All you have to do is press the button under the product that you wish to buy. After you press the button, the screen will show you the price of the product with a QR code for you to scan and pay. Once the payment is made, the product is pushed out of the machine for you to collect.

A One-Of-Its-Kind Initiative

This machine is one-of-its-kind in the state of Gujarat. The condom vending machine was invented by two mechanical engineers, Bhavik Vora and Jigar Ungar. These two men passed their mechanical engineering exams at S.S. Gandhi Engineering College in Surat, Gujarat.

Although first installed in Surat, similar machines were installed in different cities in India years ago. In 2014, a condom vending machine was installed in the underground section of the Delhi Metro station.

In 2009, Mumbai saw the installation of 3,530 vending machines in the city. But when it came to sales, the ratio was very bad. Many of these machines were nonfunctional, and the ones that were functional, sold only one product every day.
