Every big city has its own battle scars. Mumbai has unforgiving monsoon rains, Bengaluru has its tech-time traffic, but what about Gurgaon? We’ll tell you, Gurgaon has a gridlock so thick that it has its own genre of jokes. And this week, one Instagram reel, posted by creator @nomadic_ankit, captured the soul of it all!
Gurgaon Traffic Captured In Viral Reel

The viral reel shows a drone shot, panning across a stretch of highway in Gurgaon, which is packed with cars. It shows car after car crawling like ants in molasses. In the background, a haunting line from a sad Hindi track plays: “Ab toh aadat si hai mujhko aise jeene ki.”
The video was posted by user Ankit Tiwari (@nomadic_ankit ) and ought to show real suffering packed with a humorous punch. It made the painful reality hit home: this was just another day in Gurgaon, after a not-so-unusual downpour. But the reality was even worse last week when parts of the city saw heavy rainfall that flooded roads, filled basements, and cracked open stretches of asphalt. Residents reported water flowing into homes. Authorities like the traffic police couldn’t do much except direct the chaos on the roads.
The Internet Is Concerned Among Laughs
Scroll through the comments of the viral Gurgaon traffic reel, and you’ll find more than just laughs; it was a mix of confession, satire, and plain civic despair!
“Don’t say Delhi NCR,” one user snapped while another wrote, “This is the misery made exclusively for Gurgaon commuters.”
A netizen asked rhetorically: “Why aren’t companies with hundreds of employees legally required to run even a single bus service. Because if everyone’s taking a car, who’s taking responsibility?”
Then poured the rain jokes: “Thodi barish aur ho jaye… phir dekho jaam.” Ankit replied with an even more hilarious take: “Uske baad to boat lena padega.”
Meanwhile, others commented not to complain but just to cope, saying, “Bhai main to roj ese he ata jata hu.”
There was another user who commented an oddly comforting line: “Still better than Bangalore!!”
One comment hit the core of the issue, saying, “After some point, adding lanes is not the solution.” And it’s true; one cannot solve urban dysfunction with more concrete. As every single employee in Cyber Hub takes out a personal vehicle, no 16-lane expressway will be enough.
