Haryana: Olympic Medallist Manu Bhaker’s Uncle, Grandmother Pass Away In A Tragic Road Accident; Car Driver Missing

Every day, our lives are disrupted by moments of unavoidable circumstances. Despite advancements in safety measures, accidents are something that we cannot awalys avoid. A recent tragedy in Haryana serves as a reminder of this reality. India’s Olympic Shooting Star Manu Bhaker is currently struggling with a personal loss as her maternal grandmother and maternal uncle lost their lives in a road accident that occurred on Sunday on the Mahendragarh Bypass Road in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana.

According to the reports from Hindustan Times, a scooter collided with a Brezza car. Manu Bhaker‘s relatives were on the scooter at the time of the collision. While the circumstances of the crash are still unclear, the police reports state that both individuals on the scooter lost their lives on the spot. However, the driver of the car left the scene and the police are actively working to locate them. 

ASI Suresh Kumar shared with the Hindustan Times that they received the information about this collision between a car and a scooter. Sadly, both individuals on the scooter succumbed to injuries, and the driver of the car was not present at the scene when the police arrived.

Heartbreaking Loss For The Olympic Medallist And Her Family

A shining star in Indian sports, Manu Bhaker was recently honoured with the prestigious Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award by President Droupadi Murmu. The 22-year-old double Olympic gold medallist recently marked her name in history by becoming the first Indian athlete to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics during the Paris 2024 games. In Paris, she bagged a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event and another bronze in the mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh, making it India’s first-ever shooting team medal. 

Currently, the athlete is handling this heartbreaking personal tragedy. As per the reports from Hindustan Times. The police investigation is ongoing and they are putting in all their efforts to track down the driver of the Brezza car.

This unfortunate accident is certainly a reminder for all of us to think about road safety. From following traffic rules to wearing helmets, certainly, every small step can help save lives and avoid any tragedies.
