Seeing how special the occasion is for many women, Haryana Roadways has come up with a heartwarming scheme that is sure to benefit many. Women in Haryana will now get to travel for free by bus on this auspicious occasion!

Raksha Bandhan is a festival that is special for most women in India. It is a day to celebrate the special bond between brothers and sisters which is uniquely sweet, despite being filled with fights and conflicts.

Given how valuable the occasion is for many women, the Haryana Roadways has come up with a sweet scheme to treat the women of the state with the ultimate gift. Women in Haryana will be allowed to travel for free in ordinary standard buses.

Mool Chand Sharma, who is the transport minister of the state, stated that the scheme was approved by Manohar Lal Khattar. He is the Chief Minister of the state. This facility, however, will be temporary and will only be applicable for a day.

Women Can Travel For Free Along With Their Children

This facility for free travel for a day is not just for women, it also includes their children. Women can travel along with their children for free on the state transport buses. However, this is only applicable to children under the age of 15. Beyond that, tickets will have to be purchased.

This particular facility can be availed from the 29th of August, noon onwards. It will end at mignight on the 30th of August. This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on the 30th of August. Many women celebrate this festival by tying a ceremonial thread on their brother’s wrist. Many women who don’t have brothers, celebrate it by tying the threat to their close friends or even to deities like Krishna and Ganesh.
