Corporate Houses In Haryana Can Now Serve Alcohol. Here’s What The Recent Liquor Policy States

Won’t you like a glass of beer after a hectic day at work? Would love that is what I heard! Well, employees in Haryana will surely have happy hours after work now. Companies in Haryana will soon have canteens and eateries that will serve ‘low-content’ alcoholic drinks. This includes beer and wine. The reason behind this is the recently introduced liquor policy by the state government.

Corporate Houses In Haryana Can Now Serve Alcohol

Recently, the state government introduced a liquor policy. Under this policy, the offices in Haryana can sell alcoholic drinks like beer and wine on the premises. For this, they need to get a licence (L-10F) issued by the state government. But this facility comes with some conditions.

The office pantry or canteen, where these alcoholic drinks can be sold, must have a space of at least 2000 sq ft. This licence will be provided to only those companies that own a covered area of 1 lakh sq ft. The company must also have at least 5,000 employees on payroll.

The state government said that these conditions will stop many companies from applying for this licence. Many companies do not even have the policy of serving liquor on their premises. So this again eliminates more offices from the application process.

Companies In IT Parks Or SEZs Are Excluded

Companies that are situated in IT parks or special economic zones (SEZs) do not fall under this policy. This is because these companies are not allowed to serve liquor of any kind.

These companies are issued licences by the town and country planning department. These offices are not allowed to issue licences, even for one-day liquor parties. Many companies do not even have the policy of serving liquor on their premises.

The application for this licence by state government in Haryana will be similar to that for bar permits. A security amount of ₹3 lakh has to be paid by the applicant. They will also have to pay ₹10 lakh every year. The building where the liquor will be served also has to be a standalone building. The area should not be frequented by people.   (As per The Times Of India)
