Kaashvi Saxena took to the microblogging site, X (formerly Twitter) to share a helpful list of dos and don’ts for cricket fans heading to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to watch the India vs Australia ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final. In her post, the X user gives everyone a sneak peak into her experience watching the India vs Pakistan match at the Ahmedabad stadium.
Firstly, the X user advised everyone entering the Narendra Modi Stadium to not carry anything. Yes, she is very serious about this. Kaashvi Saxena tells fans to not carry powerbanks, cables, airpods and earphones inside the stadium. Citing her personal experience, the cricket fan recollects her valuables being dumped in a carton box. She states that many others were upset about not finding their belongings back.
DO NOT carry anything. Not even your airpods/earphones/powerbanks/cables. They will legit dump it in a carton box and people were CRYINGG after cuz their stuff was no where to be found. Don’t carry compact/lipsticks/lipbalms/sunscreens. They WILL throw every single item.

Furthermore, she tells people to not carry lipsticks, lip balms and sunscreens. The authorities will throw everything. She remembered the time when she carried sunscreen and power bank in her bag and the police officials told her to throw them off. So, the X user hopes her thread will help other cricket fans plan and enter the stadium accordingly. Only a mobile and a flag are permitted inside the stadium. Not even carrying cover for shades. Instead one can wear the cover for their shade over their head.
Don’t bother buying stuff they sell on the streets. You’ll get all kinds of toys/hand fan thingy etc. but once you reach the gate they will throw that away😂 We wasted money lmao.

Bottle Of Water Costs Whopping ₹100!
Carry loads of cash.
A bottle of water will cost 100/200. You won’t get to take your water bottle inside so just buy one plastic one on your way inside. You will have refill stations but they’re too crowded lol.
Sandwiches or pizzas will be 300 average for 1 person.
— Kaashvi Saxena (@kaashvisaxena) November 16, 2023
Also, she adds that one can opt to store their belongings in locker systems for ₹500. But then people may have to wait long after the match is over the retrieve their belongings. So, the X user advises cricket fans to leave their belongings in their cars or hotels. Next, people should carry a lot of cash with them. What’s shocking is that the woman claims that a bottle of water costs a whopping ₹100 or ₹200 inside the Narendra Modi Stadium. The refill stations are crowded too. Also, sandwiches or pizzas for one person cost ₹300 on average. Bear in mind that vendors won’t sell water while doing rounds. So, fans need to head to FnB counters to purchase water.

For those with a big appetite, she advises them to order food on their seats. Otherwise, they may end up missing out on the match while heading to the FnB counter to fuel up. Also, walk towards the stadium by 10 or 11 am, so you can be seated by 12:30 pm and not miss out on the toss. The key to staying healthy and watching the match comfortably is to wear light clothes, hydrate and don a cap.

I wonder the need to set-up such guardrails just to see a match. Yes, just a cricket match.
Don’t fool yourselves by going thro this for 10-12 hours after paying 20-30K per ticket. Doesn’t make sense, IMHO. Watching cricket should be relaxing and NOT taxing.

I can confirm this is 100% accurate thread

I was there for Ind-Pak game and all this is true but genuinely this is the process for many stadiums, carry only your essentials & enjoy the journey.
My top tip to be added here.. take the metro which stops less than 500 meter from Gate 1 in order to avoid those long walks.— Abby (@lucky_abbas90) November 17, 2023
You forgot to add – Thought mobiles are allowed, the congestion jams the network and one can’t use data or outgoing calls. Sometimes incoming calls do connect though.
