Tragic Helicopter Crash Off Dubai Coast Sparks Rescue Mission
The General Civil Aviation Authority’s Air Accident Investigation Sector swiftly responded to the distress call. They received notification of the helicopter crash on the evening of Thursday, 7th September 2023, at approximately 8:30 pm. The chopper, identified as a “Bell 212” with the registration mark A6-ALD, was under the ownership of AeroGulf. It descended into the Gulf Sea during a night training mission. It had two pilots onboard. One pilot was Egyptian and the other one was of South African nationality.
What’s AeroGulf? Founded in 1976 in Dubai, AeroGulf Services Company functions as both a commercial helicopter operator and an aviation maintenance facility. The company’s headquarters are strategically located at Dubai World Central (Al Maktoum) International Airport, near Jebel Ali. Presently, AeroGulf operates a fleet consisting of Leonardo AW139, Bell 212, and Bell 206 helicopters. Furthermore, AeroGulf remains dedicated to offering consistent aerial support services to various businesses and governmental bodies across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
