The state government has mentioned that the private helicopter had to make a precautionary landing on the road instead of the helipad. Furthermore, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed, and the rest of the shuttle operations to Kedarnath are proceeding as previously scheduled.

4th Incident In 30 days On The Char Dham Route

As per TOI, similar incidents have happened in the past. On 8 May, a chopper crashed near Gangotri, leading to 6 deaths. An accident was also reported on 12 May when a chopper blade hit a vehicle at the Badrinath helipad. On 15 May, an air ambulance crashed in the Kedarnath area after its tail hit the ground while landing. However, no injuries were reported, and all three on board, the pilot, doctor, and nurse, were safe.

These accidents are truly disheartening. Pilgrims go there to seek the blessings of the divine without expecting such incidents to happen. We hope Civil Aviation officials act swiftly to prevent such accidents in future.
