Here’s What You Should Do When You Feel Claustrophobic On A Plane

Claustrophobia is a real issue and many people suffer through this every day when they enter any closed places. Be it an elevator or inside a flight, feeling claustrophobic can be scary. Imagine you are on a flight, flying into the air, and suddenly you start feeling claustrophobic, you do not have an option to exit from there. In such cases, there are steps that you can follow to get rid of the terrible situation. If you suffer from claustrophobia and need to travel on a flight soon, here are some things you can do to feel comfortable during your journey.

Follow These Steps When You Feel Claustrophobic On A Plane:

Consult With Your Doctor

Once you have booked your flight ticket, take an appointment with your doctor. Consult with the doctor about claustrophobia and if necessary he/she might prescribe you medicines in case of emergency. In many cases, doctors often prescribe medicines to deal with the anxiety on the plane. Do not take any medications after hearing from another person who suffers from claustrophobia as well. Visit your doctor and follow everything prescribed by him/her.

Take Enough Time

Do not reach the airport in a hurry. Save plenty of time to feel relaxed while boarding the flight. Any rush might trigger you so it is better to have enough time in hand before boarding the flight.

Stay Busy

Keep yourself entertained inside the flight. Either binge-watch your favourite series and movies or read your favourite book. Distraction in such claustrophobic cases helps you to take off your mind from claustrophobia and anxiety. Keep yourself busy inside the flight with the things that you love to do.

Do Not Consume Alcohol

Drinking is a very bad idea in such times. One might think that a glass of alcohol will help to get rid of claustrophobic feelings. Unfortunately, it has the chance to trigger your anxiety. And it is something that no one needs, especially in this situation.

Ask Help If You Feel Claustrophobic

Do not be shy to ask for assistance if you are falling sick. Talk with the attendants and let them know about your issues. They know how to deal with such emergency situations and they will be able to help you out.
