 1. Jama Masjid

Built in 1424 by Sultan Ahmed Shah, Jama Masjid, which is also known as Jumma Masjid, translates to ‘Friday mosque.’ This mosque showcases an architectural fusion of Hindu and Jain religions, like lotus carvings on some domes, which is very similar to that of many Jain temples. This mosque is amplified by an enormous, peaceful courtyard.

2. Dada Harir Wav

Situated in Asarwa, 15km away from Ahmedabad, this astonishing and fascinating place is among the two famous stepwells of the region. Established during the Mehmud Begda era, this octagonal stepwell is designed in sandstone and made with a trace of the Solanki style of architecture.

3. Sabarmati Ashram

This historical site, also known as the Mahatma Gandhi Ashram and Satyagraha Ashram, has a strong connection to our leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. Located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, it has a rich history of India’s independence. Today, the ashram has been transformed into a museum that documents Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings.

 4. Auto World Vintage Car Museum

Crazy about vintage cars? Check out Auto World Vintage Car Museum in Ahmedabad, featuring over 120 vintage cars. This museum includes old utility vehicles, motor vehicles, and ancient carriages. It was started by Shri Pranlal Bhogilal Patel in the year 1927, where he exhibited his private car collection. Today, the museum includes a collection of royal cars and carriers ranging from 1900 to the 1970s. The Vintage and Classic Car Club of India has been organising and maintaining this museum since 1985.

5. Kankaria Lake

The second-largest lake in Ahmedabad, Kankaria Lake, was first known as Hauz-e-Qutub. This lakefront is popular for the balloon safari, zoo, toy trains, water activities, and amusement park, making it a perfect heritage site in Ahmedabad to spend some quality time and do some fun activities with your family.

 6. Akshardham Temple

This temple is a masterpiece, precisely carved from 6,000 metric tonnes of pink sandstone from Rajasthan. Also known as the Swaminarayan Temple, this beautiful temple has an outstanding 7-foot-tall statue of Swaminarayan weighing around 1.2 tonnes and set on a 3-foot pedestal in the central hall. Built in 1822, the temple attracts around a million people during the Diwali festival. So if you are visiting Ahmedabad during the Diwali season, please visit this temple.

7. Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum

Established in 1984, this museum has Indian sculptures, bronzes, manuscripts, paintings, drawings, miniature paintings, woodwork, beadwork, and ancient and contemporary coins. Located on the premises of the L.D. Institute of Indology, this museum has paintings that are older than the Mughal period. So if you are interested in bygone times and love to know more about the history of the state, this place is a must-visit for you.

 8. Hutheesing Jain Temple

Dedicated to the 15th Tirthankara of the Jains, this temple in Bodalpura was established in 1848. A very popular site in Ahmedabad, this scenic Jain temple is a beautiful two-storey white marble structure that brings calmness and a delightful experience.
