Onam is all about coming together over good food, and Oman is getting into the festive spirit with plenty of traditional Sadhya feasts this year. Restaurants across Muscat and Sohar are serving generous banana-leaf spreads packed with classic Kerala favourites, from aviyal and sambar to payasam and pradhaman. If you’re looking to enjoy an authentic Onam feast with family and friends, here are eight restaurants serving Sadhya in Oman this year.

1. Kahani Restaurant 

Kahani by Indian House is bringing the flavours of Kerala to Sohar with a traditional Onam Sadhya. The special feast features 26+ dishes served on a banana leaf, celebrating the rich heritage of this 1,600-year-old culinary tradition. Chef Josin will join the kitchen for an exclusive three-day takeover, preparing the feast in the traditional style. It’s a chance to experience an authentic Onam celebration right here in Oman.

2. Imperial Kitchen

You can also pre-order payasam in bulk to add a sweet finish to your feast. With its spacious buffet-style setup, the restaurant is well suited for group celebrations.

Queens Palace Restaurant is going all out for Onam with a grand 30-item traditional Sadhya. Served on a banana leaf, the feast features favourites such as aviyal, sambar, rasam, thoran, olan, erissery and koottu curry. Save room for the sweet selection, which includes parippu pradhaman, palada payasam and wheat payasam. It’s a hearty spread that brings the flavours of a classic Kerala Onam feast to the table.

MRA Bakery & Restaurant is celebrating Onam with a traditional Sadhya packed with authentic Kerala flavours. The festive spread includes classics such as aviyal, erissery, olan, thoran, sambar, pulissery and rasam, alongside rice and a selection of accompaniments. Sweeten the feast with palada payasam and parippu pradhaman for a fitting finish.

Foodlands is hosting a traditional Onam Sadya on Wednesday, August 26th, with the feast available exclusively through reservations. Expect a spread inspired by Kerala’s heritage, making it a fitting choice for gathering with family and friends. The restaurant is also hosting an Onam Payasa Mela from August 25th to 29th, featuring favourites such as ada pradhaman, parippu pradhaman, paalada payasam and tender coconut payasam.

8. Kozhikodens Restaurant

Kozhikodens Restaurant is serving up a 28-item Onam Sadhya packed with traditional Kerala favourites. Save room for dessert, with both palada pradhaman and paripp pradhaman included in the spread. It’s a delicious way to enjoy the flavours of a classic Kerala Onam feast.
