Himachal Landslides And Flash Floods Claim Lives And Damage Kullu And Chamba Roads

Himachal Pradesh has been receiving incessant rains due to which several roads have been blocked in the state. In the past few days, 32 people have lost their lives to rain-related incidents. Apart from that, Himachal is also experiencing landslides and flash floods due to the heavy rain. As per reports, roads in Kullu and Chamba were damaged due to the continuous rains. Himachal Flash Floods & Damage

Due to the rains, there has been an increase in the number of landslides in Himachal. Additionally, as many as three have lost their lives in Chamba. As per a media report, there has been severe damage in Mandi, Chamba and Kangra districts in the state. Landslides have claimed lives of around 8 people in the Mandi district. Many people have also gone missing in Mandi, and as of now, there are no reports on tracing them. On Saturday, there were reports of a cloudburst following which families had to flee from their homes and seek shelter.

Funds Released For The Crisis In Himachal

An amount of ₹232.31 crore was given for the damage done due to the rains. The State Disaster Response Fund released the amount for the affected districts in Himachal. Authorities have also informed that there are sufficient funds to deal with the rainfall crisis undergoing in the state right now. Due to the flash floods, a bridge had also collapsed on Saturday. Seven trains used to run on this rail bridge and was built in the year 1928 by the British Government. An inquiry has also been ordered regarding the situation.
