Himachal Pradesh: 9 Buildings In Kullu Collapse Due To Major Landslide; No Casualties Reported

Himachal Pradesh is experiencing the worst of monsoon season. With incessant heavy rainfall, several areas of the state are facing immense natural calamities. We are coming across news of landslides, flash floods, obstacles in transportation, and more issues in Himachal every day. Thursday morning reported a massive landslide in Kullu that led to damaging properties.

Landslide In Anni Market Area Trigerred The Collapse Of Many Buildings

Several videos of the destruction are making rounds on the Internet. Abdur Rahman Ansari (@AnsariiTweets) took to the social media platform X to share visuals of the horrifying landslide hitting and destroying buildings.

On Thursday morning, this scary landslide hit the Anni market area in Kullu district, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The location of the rain-triggered landslide is at a distance of about 76 km from the Kullu headquarters.

According to several online reports, about 8 to 9 buildings have faced damages and badly collapsed due to the landslide. These affected buildings were built near the Anni bus stand. Viral videos on social media show how the natural calamity took down the establishments and buildings collapsed into dust in just some time. One building had two banks located inside it as well.

A Building Was Evacuated Earlier, Shared The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister

CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu shared a video of a commercial building collapsing because of the landslide. He added that the administration identified the risk and evacuated the property 2 days before the incident.

The prior notice to evacuate the building saved the lives of many people. According to the latest updates, no casualties have been reported as of now. Though many buildings faced terrible damage, no one lost their lives in this unfortunate landslide.

It has been over 2 months since Himachal Pradesh is facing such devastating occurrences. Rain fury has been going on for weeks leading to so many loss of lives. The rain-triggered landslides are hitting different parts of the state quite often leading to intense destructions and damages. Frequent landslides are wreaking havoc in all these mountain districts. Monsoon season and its consequences are terribly affecting the tourism industry as well.
