Currently, Himachal Pradesh is experiencing one of the heaviest monsoon rainfalls. These natural calamities can cause significant damage to infrastructure, disrupt transportation, and pose risks to the local population. Now, a new video has resurfaced online where a four-storeyed hotel building came crashing down because of the overpouring rain.
A Four-Storeyed Hotel Building Crumbled Down Due To Landslide
In a new video surfacing online, a four-storeyed hotel collapsed and got washed away amid the heavy downpour. The hotel almost came down like a pack of cards within seconds. Additionally, the hotel did not have any guests inside and no loss of life was reported.
On Sunday, another video flooded the internet where the flooded Beas River caused a section of the NH-3 (national highway between Leh and Manali) to be washed away. As heavy rains pummelled Himachal Pradesh, another footage of a car being washed away on the Beas River near Kullu surfaced online.
Even landslides and flash floods shut down a number of highways in the districts of Shimla, Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, and Solan. In North India, there has been a lot of rain, with Himachal Pradesh suffering the most. Over the past 48 hours, nonstop rain has caused landslides and flash floods.

Himachal Pradesh Has Been Worstly-Affected By This Monsoon
On Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a red alert for seven districts that will last over the following 48 hours. IMD has forecast a third day of heavy rain, as of the most recent update on July 10. According to the Hindustan Times, landslides and heavy rain caused the closure of roughly 250 routes and the traffic jam on 763 others. Even, the Pandoh market in the Mandi district sustained significant damage as floodwaters invaded the area.
The availability of commodities like power and water is also being hampered by severe rain. According to reports, numerous villages in Shimla have been without water for the second day in a row. Schools and institutions have been declared closed, according to the state administration, amid red alert warnings.
In fact, train service has been impacted by heavy rains across Northern India, halting service not just in Himachal Pradesh but also in Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.
