The City of Love is not receiving the love expected this Olympics season. Starting from accommodation costs to higher flight ticket fares, multiple crucial facilities reportedly cost higher prices this Olympics season. Unfortunately, these spikes influenced many travellers to ditch their plans to visit Paris this year. The city expected a significant number of visitors for the Olympics but the reality is quite the opposite.

It is crucial to reach at least close to the expected revenue numbers this season. Seeing no great responses from overseas visitors, many hotels decided to drop nightly charges. People are taking major steps to increase occupancy in their stays and offering deals may help them to get the much-needed boost. Alan Bachand, the 14sb owner, shared that many hotels have already started to slash 50 per cent rates for hotel rooms. Paris Olympics 2024 is the first event where the associated people in the hotel industry are charging less than what they have paid to book stays.

Paris je t’aime revealed that just 1.5 million spectators at the games venues will travel from overseas destinations, according to a report by Hindustan Times. As per information shared by the Paris Tourism Board, about 11.3 million people are likely to explore the city during the international multi-sport event, including both locals and international visitors.

The hotel industry had major expectations for business and revenues. However, everything went downhill with the high prices of accommodations during the Olympics period. People are now charging visitors accordingly hoping to at least break even. The present condition for this industry is unpleasant. The expected sales have already dropped extensively and reducing prices looks like the only solution at such a dreadful time.
