Huma Qureshi is the daughter of the owner of one of Delhi’s best-known kebaberies and no doubt the actor loves cooking. Huma, on Thursday, decided to celebrate her birthday by trying her hand at cooking. She went ahead to whip up some famous Gujarati dishes for her family. And let’s be honest, cooking ‘Thepla’, ‘Dal dhokli’, ‘khichdi’, and ‘bharela bhinda’ was totally a great idea. But it was Tarla Dalal’s cookbook that helped her with the idea of these dishes. “I decided to take a page out of Tarla Dalal’s cookbooks and rustle up a meal for my family,” the actor revealed.

On Tuesday, Huma Qureshi completed the shooting of ‘Tarla’, an upcoming biopic on famous cookbook writer and chef Tarla Dalal. Apart from celebrating her birthday by cooking for her family, Huma is also preparing hard for her role as a chef in the biopic. She has totally gotten immersed in the world of Tarla Dalal and her recent cooking adventures are proof of it. “Having immersed myself in the world of Tarla Dalal, I have learned how cooking is an art that needs to be honed over the years. Food is such an essential part of our lives. There’s nothing to beat good, healthy and home-cooked meals.”
Tarla Dalal was the first Indian to be awarded a Padma Shri in the culinary skills category in 2007.
