According to the April report of Cirium, an aviation analytics company, Hyderabad airport was globally the most on-time airport. But the airport has slipped to 10th, according to the report in May 2023.
Hyderabad Airport Slips Down On The Most On-Time Airport List
Cirium, an aviation analytics company, released a report on the top-performing airports. The report was divided into Large Airports, Small Airports, Medium airports, and Global Airports. There were many conditions, like ‘on-time performance’ on which the airports were ranked.
A flight is said to be ‘on time’ when it departs within 15 minutes of its scheduled gate departure. The airports that have better coverage, or 80 percent of actual gate departures, are reviewed by the company.
According to the April analysis, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) in Hyderabad was the only airport that broke the 90 percent on-time departure (OTD) barrier. But this month, the airport fell to rank 10th in May from rank 2nd in April with 86.08 percent.

Aviation Analytics Report by Cirium
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, was the second airport from India to be on the list with 86.14 percent. But in the month of May 2023, the airport climbed up to the 6th rank with 86.44 percent.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai showed 83.99 percent in the on-time departure category. It is the third airport from India to be on the list of 20 airports across the globe.
Cirium uses travel analytics, airline schedules, fleet data, and flight information in order to come up with an analytics report. This report helps the aviation industry understand the future, present, and past of the air travel industry.
