The Telangana government has built a unique one-of-a-kind crematorium for the last rites of deceased ones belonging to different faiths. Named “Mukti Ghat”, it is the first inter-faith crematorium in India where Hindus, Muslims, and Christians can perform the funeral rites according to their respective faiths. This first-of-its-kind crematorium was inaugurated just yesterday. Take a virtual look at the place here!

K.T. Rama Rao, the Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development of Telangana, was present here on 6 December to inaugurate the inter-faith crematorium. Built over a huge area of 6.5 acres, Mukti Ghat is a prominent example of building harmony among people of different faiths living together in India.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) worked on constructing the Mukti Ghat at Fathullaguda in LB Nagar Zone. Not only the last rites of Hindus, Muslims, and Christians can be performed here, but this crematorium also features a separate provision where the family and relatives can see the last funeral rites. The ones who cannot be present physically can also watch the rites online.
