Mildred Kirschenbaum is a 100, almost 101-year-old lady living in the USA. A travel agent by profession, she still works and travels often. However, in the past few months, she has been deemed an “unescorted minor” whenever she travels by flight. If you’re wondering why, then this is all due to a TSA glitch that allows you to only use the last two numbers of your birth year while booking flights. So, Mildred, born in the year 1923, can only fill ‘23’ in the birth year box while booking her flights, making her almost one year old in the booking system!
Mildred shared this hilarious experience with a video posted by her daughter on Instagram. Sharing her experience, she further explained how she has to be escorted by a supervisor because she appears as an “unescorted minor” on any airline’s system. They have to see her through security because of the protocol and no one seems to have figured out how to fix this issue yet! While frustrated, Mildred sees the silver lining in this whole situation and says, “Well, I’m going through my second childhood. The unescorted minor!”
