Mumbai local trains are notorious for being overcrowded in a way that is dangerous. An Irish-Persian YouTuber, Sean Hammond, shared his very first time travelling on the local trains of Mumbai. He recorded his entire journey and shared what he really thought of the experience. It is always fun to witness how others would react to a local cultural phenomenon that someone is not quite familiar with. At first glance, he seemed to have underestimated how crowded the train would get.

YouTuber Travels In Mumbai Local For The First Time

The video that he shot starts with him announcing that he was about to travel in the Mumbai Locals for the very first time. He said that the locals, rightly so, are notorious for being very chaotic. From his background, it seemed that he boarded the train from Mahalaxmi station.

This means that he was travelling on the Western Line. What is more, he purchased a ticket to Bandra. When he boarded the train, it seemed that the train was not too crowded. The vlogger even mentioned that it doesn’t seem as bad as some of the stuff he’s seen online in videos.

However, soon, Dadar station arrived and people began flooding the train. That’s when the vlogger realised that he had underestimated the crowd. However, once the crowd settled, the vlogger mentioned that it still wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be. He ended the video by saying that it was just like travelling in a London Tube.

Understandably, a lot of people were not impressed by the crowd on the train. Many added that if he wanted to experience the real crowds, then he should take trains during peak hours.

One comment mentioned that he should try taking trains between 8 AM and 9 AM on the Central line. One other commenter mentioned that he should take a local to Virar during peak hours.
