Mumbai Local Train Update: 6 Existing Lines Extended, 12 New Suburban Services Launched; Details Inside

Keeping in mind the festive rush and passenger convenience, Western Railway (WR) introduced 12 new suburban services. That’s now all, WR also extended six existing services in its new timetable. The new suburban timetable of Mumbai local train came into effect on October 12. Read on for more details.

WR Announces 12 New Suburban Trains For Passenger Convenience

On the occasion of Dussehra, Western Railway had some amazing updates for its passengers. They have introduced a new timetable for Mumbai local trains on October 12 and as part of this new update, 12 new suburban trains will now be available for the passengers. As per WR’s X (formerly Twitter) post, they will also introduce 15-coach local services and four new services for Dahanu Road, as part of their new timetable.

As per a Lokmat Times report, with this new addition, the total number of trains on the suburban services has increased from 1,394 to 1,406. With these new trains, WR aims to enhance passenger comfort and make travel hassle-free, especially during rush hours. These new train services will have 12 cars, which will further add to the convenience of passengers.

Reportedly, these new services will include one train from Virar to Churchgate, two between Dahanu Road and Virar, one each from Andheri to Churchgate, Goregaon to Churchgate, and Borivali to Churchgate in the UP direction on Western Line. In the Down direction, there will be one train from Churchgate to Nalasopara and another from Churchgate to Goregaon, one between Churchgate and Andheri, and two train services from Virar to Dahanu Road.

New Time Table For Mumbai Local Trains

As per the new update, WR will extend six existing lines of the Mumbai local train to ease travel for the passengers. According to Lokmat Times, this is the new Mumbai local train timetable –

1. Borivali – Churchgate local – will now depart from Bhayandar at 10:21 AM and reach Churchgate at 11:24 AM.
2. Virar – Andheri local – now extended up to Dadar
3. Vasai Road – Churchgate AC local – will now depart from Virar at 8:29 PM and reach Churchgate at 9:53 PM.
4. Churchgate – Borivali local – extended up to Virar.
5. Andheri – Virar local – will now depart from Dadar at 4:48 PM and reach Virar at 5.44 PM.
6. Churchgate – Vasai Road AC local – extended up to Virar.
