For Malaika Arora, food is an important part of her life. How important? Well, the actress recently opened her restaurant The Scarlett House with her son Arhaan Khan in Bandra, Mumbai. And who better to check out the place than our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani? While introducing Kamiya to the lavish menu, on the Sunday Brunch episode, Malaika revealed how carbs (carbohydrates) are an important part of her diet.
Malaika Arora Needs Carbs To Function
Malaika Arora, while sharing her day-to-day routine with Kamiya Jani, revealed her relationship with carbohydrates (carbs). The actress, known for her enviously good physique, said, “I’m somebody who needs carbs.” It depends on the amount of carbs she needs in a meal. If she has a carb-heavy lunch then she has dinner which is light on carbs.” She adds, “I need little carbs otherwise I feel very dull.”
The actress reveals that if she doesn’t eat carbs she is unable to work late hours or be her optimum. She feels hungry and devoid of energy without sufficient carbs. Malaika said she likes to have khichdi at night as it’s a wholesome meal with veggies. Similarly, she likes having prawn curry with rice too. With time, Malaika learnt to prioritise her health.
She Loves Chawal Or Rice
While playing Never Have I Ever with Kamiya, Malaika revealed that she isn’t the kind of traveller who looks for Indian food abroad. In fact, her son Arhaan Khan craves Indian food after staying for long durations outside India. Malaika craves hot food during her trips. The only thing she looks for during her international trips is “chawal” or rice. Wherever she goes, she likes to eat rice. That’s why Malaika Arora tends to like Thai, Sri Lankan, Asian and South Indian cuisines.
