In Video: Here’s How A UAE Helicopter Rescued An Italian Tourist From Meliha Mountains

UAE is known for malls, rollercoasters and luxury, but it is also known for rough terrains, which can be dangerous at times. While many hikers enjoy conquering these terrains, sometimes things do tend it get a bit scary. A similar incident happened with an Italian tourist after he fell off the Mleiha Mountain. Watch this video to find out how Sharjah Police airlifted the 42-year-old tourist who fell 50 feet off the mountain.

The Man Has Suffered From Head Injury And Multiple Other Bruises

The man’s companions had called the police for help at 9 50 AM after he fell 50 feet off the mountain. He sustained a fractured arm, a head injury, and multiple bruises. However, due to the inaccuracy of the location, the authorities were unable to send an ambulance, and hence they sent a helicopter to airlift the tourist to safety.

He Is Currently Being Treated At Al Dhaid Hospital

After being rescued, the man was then transferred to Al Dhaid Hospital, where he is receiving the necessary treatment. Lt Col Al Ketbi, who headed this operation, has urged the residents and tourists to take the necessary precautions when going trekking and hiking. Speaking about the rescue operation, he said that given the mountainous terrain of the region, the centre was always ready to deal with any such accidents.
