India Ranks 2nd In Tourist Arrivals In United States In May 2023, Clocks An Impressive Tourist Count

The world is now open to travel, and people are making the most of it. From people visiting the same old favourite destinations to many exploring new destinations, the travel industry has seen a surge. Talking about this, the  United States National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) released a report that showed tourist arrivals in the United States. It stated that India ranked second in tourist arrivals with an impressive tourist count.

The figures released by the United States National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) in May 2023 made an interesting reveal. It stated that India became the second-largest international source for tourist arrivals in the US. About 199,364 Indian tourists visited the United States during the month of May. 

Indian arrivals to the US were ranked in third place between January-May 2023, on a year-by-year basis. It ranked third after Germany and the United Kingdom, and the number clocked was 643,270. 

Compared to the pre-COVID year, this number showed a significant 6 percent increase in arrivals. The forecast by NTTO expects Indians to easily surpass the count of arrivals by the end of 2023.

Adding Flight Capacity To The Country

India ranked sixth in the year 2022, with about 1.3 million people arriving in the United States. Talking about the amount spent, it ranked fourth as it spent about US$ 13.3 million. 

India continues to increase airline capacity to the USA with its continuous growth as the third-largest civil aviation market in the world. Numerous Middle Eastern, European, and Asian airlines offer convenient one-stop services to the US in addition to direct flights to numerous US destinations.

For long-distance leisure travel, the United States remains an aspirational destination for Indian tourists.
