From papier mache shops and Shikara rides to witnessing the Jhelum River and living the fairytale at Pari Mahal, Elli truly experienced the best of Srinagar.
India With Elli: Dal Lake, Shikara Rides & Jhelum River
Jhelum is the oldest and the largest river in Kashmir, so it had to be one of the first places we visited. We even caught a brief glimpse at it when we visited Pahalgam since the river also travels through it.
Can you even say you visited Srinagar without going to Dal Lake? It is one of the shiniest jewels in Srinagar’s crown and it deserves all the hype. How could we not get lost in the crystal-clear water surrounded by luscious greenery?
And of course, can you even say that you went to Dal Lake without riding a Shikara? The only possible downside to this wonderful experience might be the sad fact that you cannot spend your entire life just floating on water with no worries and complete quietude.

Exploring Local Handicraft
Kashmir is known for many things. Its food, people, hospitality, pashminas, you name it, Kashmir has it. One of the things it is also known for its handicraft. We visited the most stunning papier mache shop in Srinagar which showcased the most intricately crafted products.
While exploring the streets of Srinagar, we also came across the most quaint-looking Copper house. It sold a variety of handmade copperware that were meticulously detailed. We also came across a Hakim who sold Unani medicine.
