What happens when two women partner to start a beer company? Well, you’d have to ask actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty the deets, as the duo’s latest Do You Wanna Partner gives you a glimpse of that. The actors met our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for a very special Sunday Brunch episode. Over delicious North Indian food, the duo discussed what they felt were important factors in running a business.
Tamannaah Bhatia Talks About Balancing Entrepreneurship & Acting
As the women on Sriracha King Prawns, Dal Makhani, Butter Chicken, and Naan, Kamiya Jani asked the “partners” to share their business insights. After all, Diana Penty and Tamannaah Bhatia are playing entrepreneurs in their latest venture. The question involved asking them about what they felt were the most important factors in running a successful business.
Tamannaah replied, “I think execution. The ability to create an ecosystem that works without you constantly having to look into every minute detail. It’s like creating systems.” Impressed, Kamiya replied that the actor already sounds like an entrepreneur. “I am,” said Tamannaah. She reflected on the fact that both acting and entrepreneurship are very natural extensions of her. She said she hasn’t chosen these professions because she was chasing fame or money.

She Believes Both Should Add Value
“Both are byproducts of what I wanted to do,” said the actor. Tamannaah said, “I truly think behind films and businesses, there has to be a sense of service.” She gave the example of making films people would like to see, not just what the actor or filmmaker would like to see. Films and businesses should have a problem-solving quality to them, and they should add value to someone’s life, believes Tamannaah. Whether it’s movies or entrepreneurship, the actor stands by this philosophy.
