We are back with another Tere Gully Mein episode, and it is extra special because we got to experience Durga Puja festivities in Kolkata, that too with superstar Ankush Hazra. He took us pandal-hopping in Kolkata and also to some amazing non-veg food spots one should not miss out on when in the city. We had a lovely time exploring the pandal in Kolkata, performing the Dhudhuchi dance and lovely conversation where the actor also revealed a lot about himself, along with his journey to becoming the star that he is today.
Pandal-Hopping With Ankush Hazra
Our team visited Kolkata for pandal-hopping with Ankush Hazra. We visited the most famous Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata, Mondap. The actor revealed that he was born and brought up in Bardhaman, and when he came to Kolkata, in the very initial years, he was able to achieve his dream of becoming an actor. Just like any other Bengali, Durga Puja holds a special place in Ankush’s heart, but due to his tight schedule, he isn’t able to visit this pandal every year, Whenever he gets a chance, he doesn’t miss it.
So, this year we took it upon ourselves to make sure he visits the pandal during the Durga Puja festival. After entering the pandal, we took the blessings of Goddess Durga, and the actor took the clay pot in his hands and performed a Dhunuchi dance. We also joined him, and it was a memorable experience. We further enjoyed a Jhumur dance. Then we moved to our first love, that is, street food and tried the famous puchkas of Kolkata. Ankush also revealed that he always loses the puchka race as he can only eat a little. He also added that he enjoys puchkas prepared with yoghurt and chutney. We also tried the famous Jhalmuri, Fish-fry, Egg & Chicken Kadhi Roll there, and ended our day with mouth-watering Rasgulla.

His Acting Journey & Backup Plans
Ankush Hazra also opened up about his upcoming film, Raktabeej 2, the first part of which is already out. Talking about the film, he said, “It was a game-changer for Bengali cinema. There’s a really fun part in it where I did a cameo in a song, like a male item number, which became a huge hit. At the end, I also gave a little hint of everything happening in the story. It was a small cameo, and I didn’t know it would have a sequel and that I would be an integral part of it.”
When asked if he had any backup plan in case he didn’t succeed as an actor, Ankush replied negatively. He always wanted to be an actor and was really passionate about it. He said that he became an actor because he never had a second option in mind.
