Instead of following in her father’s footsteps, she carved out her own path—and we couldn’t be prouder. Over a meal, she opened up about her journey, and here’s what she shared.
Devyani Jaipuria Opening Costa Coffee In Delhi
In conversation with Kamiya Jani, Devyani Jaipuria shared how she carved her own path. Instead of following her father’s footsteps in the beverage industry, she focused on education. She was also the one who first brought Costa Coffee to India. Devyani revealed that her family never believed in limiting her because she was a girl. When asked if she wanted to work on the project, she eagerly agreed.
For training, Devyani, along with her mother, went to London. She did everything from mopping floors and cleaning coffee machines to taking orders. She also shared that she used to wake up at 6 am and enjoyed the experience so much that she could have stayed for three to four more months. Opening Costa Coffee’s first outlet in Delhi was a moment she described as truly special.

No conversation is complete without good food! Kamiya Jani and Devyani Jaipuria enjoyed a spread of traditional Indian delights. Their plates were filled with Aloo Dum, Gatta, Churma, Kheer, Rabri, Ker Sanr-Gri, Kurkura Bhindi, Jalebi, Masala Green Chillies, Chutneys, Dal ka Roti, Baati, and Vadas. Every bite celebrated the rich flavours of India, making their chat even more special and memorable.
During the interview, she also gave us a home tour of her grand house and let us tell you, it was breathtaking. Devyani’s journey to creating her own path is truly inspiring.
