We all know him as the ‘King of Comparisons’, Sarthak Sachdeva, and on the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we joined him on a food trail through Pune to hunt down some of the city’s best misal pav. Between bites, the influencer also opened up about some of the most ‘attrangi’ dishes he has tried, his take on street food and plenty more from his food-filled adventures.
Sarthak Sachdeva Once Paid ₹850 For Pani Puri!
For the final round of our misal pav trail with Sarthak Sachdeva, we found ourselves at a high-end 5-star restaurant. As soon as we settled in, the conversation naturally turned to street food at fancy restaurants.
When we asked him about the most expensive street food he has tried so far, he had quite the answer. “Pani puri khayi thi, uss main fish ke aande daal ke khilaye the,” he shared.
Yes, he was talking about pani puri topped with caviar! Comparing it to the humble street-side version, he said, “Pani puri ₹20 ki milti hai bahar. ₹850 diye wahan and uss main bhi teen hi puriyan aayi thi wahan,” clearly sounding less than impressed with the experience.
Shares The Most ‘Attrangi’ Dishes He Has Tried So Far!
But his food adventures don’t stop at fancy pani puri. When asked if he is willing to eat anything for content and his videos, Sarthak explained that he aims to show his audience the kind of unusual dishes that exist around the world and what they actually taste like.
“Matlab logo ko dekhana hai kya kya attrangi dishes hai duniya main; kaisa experience hota hai khaa ke. Iss liye maine maindak (frog) try kiya hai, crocodile try kiya hai,” he said.
So, what do frogs and crocodiles taste like? Sarthak had an interesting take. He highly recommended crocodile meat, describing it as soft and almost melt-in-the-mouth. According to him, if you can overlook the fact that you’re eating crocodile, you might actually enjoy the meat.
As for frog, he admitted he had his own reservations before trying it, but was pleasantly surprised by the taste, which he said was quite similar to chicken.
