Jaaved Jaaferi And Meezaan Jafri Spill The Beans
For this Sunday Brunch episode, Kamiya Jani visited Jaaved Jaaferi and Meezaan Jafri at their beautiful sea-facing home in Pali Hill. Their house looked spacious and elegant, decorated in soft, calming colours. During the chat, Kamiya asked if this was the first time the father-son duo were sharing the screen, and they agreed it was. Meezaan admitted he felt nervous—especially during the dance sequence with Jaaved. He joked that everyone on set was excited to watch his father dance, almost like fans, while he only had his mother cheering for him.
On Meezaan’s Bollywood journey, Jaaved Jaaferi revealed that he first sent his son to the USA to complete his graduation. But after not scoring well, Meezaan returned and said he would study at any college in Mumbai instead. When he later expressed interest in joining the film industry, Jaaferi told him to study filmmaking and asked him to score a GPA of 3.5 in both semesters and even joked by sending him a pair of shoes, saying he would be beaten with them if he didn’t score well.
Meezaan eventually achieved the required grades, but before he could finish his graduation, Sanjay Leela Bhansali cast him. Jaaferi then told his son to make the decision—and that’s how Meezaan’s Bollywood journey began.

What’s On The Menu
During the interview, Mr Jafri shared that his father doesn’t eat outside food. Talking more about his diet, Jaaved said he drinks boiled water and then eats fruits like papaya, avocado, or banana. After some time, he eats eggs, overnight-soaked nuts, and one roti. Later, the trio moved to the dining table, where a huge spread was waiting for them. The menu included Aloo Gosht, Yellow Dal, Rice, and Pav. Meezan then asked Kamiya to try their home speciality — a side dish made of Monaco biscuits that he said the entire dish could easily be eaten in one go.
During the meal, their conversation drifted to family, where they revealed that Jaaved’s younger son, Turaab, is the most entertaining one at home. They also spoke about Bollywood, mentioning how many films get shot but are never released, even though some have phenomenal scripts. The discussion also touched on Bollywood politics.
Towards the end, Meezan shared that one of the biggest lessons he has learned from his father is to respect elders and treat everyone equally.
