“Main Abhi Bhi Typecast Hi Ho Raha Hoon,” Feels Dhurandhar Actor Gaurav Gera

After receiving love from all over the world for his role as Aalam Bhai in Dhurandhar, actor Gaurav Gera invited our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, to his home for a delicious Sunday Brunch. During the chat, Guarav Gera talked about his life, his acting career, and more. Here’s what they talked about.

Gaurav Gera On Being Typecast

In a fun round of Never Have I Ever, Kamiya asked Gaurav, “Never Have I Ever been typecast,” to which he replied, “I have, main abhi bhi typecast hi chal raha hoon.” Further, Kamiya also appreciated him on how he plays every role so convincingly that people get attached to the characters. She also mentioned how with his Dhurandhar character Aalam, he was so convincing that people now believe that he is Aalam. To which he replied, “Main Aalam bhi nahi hu”. He further said how he loves to play characters and hopes to keep doing that in the future too.

In another Never Have I Ever question, he was asked if he ever wished to leave public life and live a private life. To which he said he is a very private person, and he never posts his pictures; he never writes anything about himself. He also revealed that it is one of the reasons his characters are believable.

Gaurav Gera Started His Career As A Dancer

Gaurav Gera also discussed his initial days in Mumbai and recalled being a background dancer for singer Sunita Rao. Talking about the same, he said that he worked as a background dancer for a song in Mast, starring Aftab Shivdasani and Urmila Matondkar. He further said that he could dance, and it paid, so it was a fair deal.

He also revealed that Dhurandhar is definitely the biggest game-changer of his life so far, and it was everything he wanted it to be.
