For this power-packed Power Hour episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met Sara Tendulkar at her pilates studio in Mumbai. Sara, who is the daughter of the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar, has carved her own space on social media. Her dedication to pilates, her social media presence, and her eye for style are quite impressive. In this episode, Sara shared her workout secrets, tasty smoothie recipes, and explained what pilates really is, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Sara Tendulkar Shares The Origin Of Pilates
Sara Tendulkar is definitely winning hearts, and her charisma is why we did an entire Power Hour episode with her. We met her at her brand-new pilates studio and were literally impressed by the cool aesthetics of her studio. Since we shot the episode in her pilates studio, it was natural that we had to do pilates with her, because it’s her favourite workout, and we wanted to learn more about it.
Before the workout, we asked Sara what pilates actually is and how it differs from other exercises. She shared with Kamiya that pilates was introduced by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Joseph originally designed the exercise for the rehabilitation of soldiers during the First World War.
Sara explained that today, pilates has become more of a trend and a “phenomenon that everyone is super interested in.” She added that pilates focuses not just on strength but also on flexibility, mobility, and the mind-body connection. Now we know the secret behind Sara’s toned body and glowing skin! Seems like we all need to switch to pilates for a well-balanced life.

She Follows A Simple Skincare Routine
After discussing its origin, Kamiya and Sara moved on to an intense pilates session. Sara revealed that her pilates journey actually started in London and has been a major part of her life since then. This explains why she now has her own pilates studio!
This Power Hour episode was not just about workouts. We also learned the secret behind Sara’s ever-glowing skin. Her skincare routine is “pretty minimal.” She starts her morning with a cleanser, sometimes a serum, moisturiser, sunscreen, and lip balm. At night, she incorporates some ‘actives’ to prevent breakouts.
Her skincare routine is simple and effective; nothing fancy. The episode then moved to a fun part where we played our signature ‘Never Have I Ever’ game and tried tasty yet healthy smoothies with her. Sara also shared tips for staying healthy before we wrapped up the episode.
