Karan Aujla

For this power-packed episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, sat down for an emotional yet heartwarming conversation with Punjabi sensation Karan Aujla. The episode was not just about his professional journey but also included many anecdotes from his personal life. Apart from sharing fun details, Karan opened up about the moment he feels his late parents’ presence the most. Both his mother and father passed away when the singer was quite young.

Karan Aujla Opens Up About His Parents

The Sunday Brunch episode kicked off with Karan Aujla revealing, “If I were not a singer today, I would probably be a truck driver in Canada.” Known for hits like Softly, Wavy and Take It Easy, Karan Aujla has millions of fans globally. While his music makes us groove to the beats, his life hasn’t been easy. Losing both parents at a young age, his sheer hard luck has shaped him into what he is today: a superhit singer fondly called Geeta Di Machine.

The hearty brunch spread included sev puri, misal pav, vada pav and dahi bhalla for that Punjabi touch. Over food, Karan spoke about his love for paranthas. When asked how many he could eat, he replied, “Max four paranthas.” He also recalled his mother making gobhi and paneer paranthas, which he used to love. When asked if there was a dish of hers he remembers most, he said, “She used to make really good bhindi and arbi ki sabzi.” When we asked if he still feels his parents’ presence, Karan Aujla revealed that he feels it most when he is on stage, performing in front of his fans.

“Something Pushes Me On Stage”

Karan Aujla shared that he started out as a writer because he wasn’t sure of his singing. But when he finally decided to sing, doubts often lingered in his mind. Before going on stage, in the first 10-20 seconds, he sometimes questioned himself: “Can I even do this?” But then, he said, “out of nowhere, something comes and pushes me, and that just makes me go crazy on stage right after I step on.” For him, this push is nothing but the presence of his parents.

This heartfelt episode was not only about emotions. Karan also spoke about his music journey and his writing process, and even shared his love story. The episode ended with him talking about his first meeting with King Khan and an exciting fan interaction, for which you will have to watch the episode.
