UK Chef Makes Thepla With Leftover Khichdi
Chef Jake Dryan (@plantfuture) recently posted a recipe video of how he made theplas with leftover khichdi. While giving shape to the thepla in the video, he mentioned that he is a little out of practice but in all honestly, the man was doing a commendable job. He mentioned that the dough was wet and it was a little hard to shape it properly. The chef then plated the theplas with some kheera raita and mango aachar.

How You Can Make It At Home

Ingredients
Chapati flour
Leftover khichdi
Red chilli powder
Turmeric
Sesame seeds
Ajwain
Yoghurt
Green chillies
Green onion
Oil
Method
1. Take your usual chapati flour in a big bowl and add the leftover khichdi to it.
2. Next, add all the species, yoghurt, chopped green chillies, and green onions.
3. With slightly greased palms, knead the dough well.
4. Form small potions from the dough, roll in dry flour, and flatten it with a rolling pin, like you do for chapatis.
5. On a hot pan, cook the theplas with slight oil till golden brown.
And that’s it! Your theplas made from leftover khichdi are ready to be enjoyed!
