Australian Traveller Gets Life Lessons From Auto Driver In India

What started as a routine auto ride for Australian traveller @willstrolls quickly turned into a memorable life lesson over a cup of chai! On his YouTube channel, he shared how he met an auto driver who had once worked as a chef in Melbourne. The encounter, also shared by @india_flipside on Instagram, charmed viewers with the duo’s mutual respect and a glimpse of India that often goes unnoticed.

In the video, as soon as Will hops into the auto and starts chatting, the auto driver asks him if he’s from Australia. Surprised, the Australian traveller replies, “Yeah, how did you know?” He happily responds, “I’ve been to Australia. I worked as a chef in Melbourne.”

Some More Charcha Over Chai

Further into the conversation, Will asks him if the man has tried to do any business in India. To this, he replied, “No, I am not a businessman. I’m a living person with pleasure. I am not a money man. Money is necessary for life. Life is not for money, my friend,” he wisely shared with the Australian traveller.

He then goes on to ask him if he’d like a good cup of chai before going to the bus station. Once the man agrees, the auto driver takes him to a little place where the two and the shop owner enjoy a cup of hot tea. While sipping on the chai, the old auto driver happily says, “When you work as a driver, you have more fun!”
