Across India, restaurants and households, all are facing the issue with the shortage of LPG cylinders. Now, to manage supply better and prevent people from hoarding cylinders, the government has introduced a change in LPG cylinder bookings. Scroll down to know what this change is!
What Is The New Rule Announced For LPG Cyclinders?
To keep LPG distribution fair, authorities have slightly increased the waiting period between two refill bookings. According to ABP News, this means consumers will now have to wait 25 days before placing their next LPG refill request. Earlier, the gap was 21 days.
But why? Officials say this small change can help keep the supply balanced across India. The idea is simple: if bookings are spaced out a little more, cylinders can reach more households without creating shortages.
Oil marketing companies have already updated their systems to follow the new rule. So if someone tries to book a refill before the 25-day gap, the system will automatically reject the request.

As per ABP News, authorities have also added a few steps to make LPG deliveries more transparent. When your cylinder arrives, you’ll receive a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) on your registered mobile number, simply share it with the delivery agent to complete the delivery. Officials are also reminding customers to finish their eKYC verification, as incomplete eKYC could pause LPG bookings and subsidy benefits.
