Kerala is planning to launch its first neurodiversity-friendly coworking space in Kochi. Spanning 48,000 sq ft, the facility will be able to accommodate over 580 professionals at a time. Kerala Opens Its First Neurodiversity-Friendly Coworking Space
Kerala is opening its first neurodiverity-friendly coworking space in Kochi. It is especially designed to support neurodivergent professionals, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more. This space will have everything from high-speed internet, 100% power backup, 24/7 security, a professional reception, cafeteria, office pods, and meeting zones. As per The New Indian Express, it will open in September and is nestled on the third to ninth floors of the metro station.
Making an official announcement about this new project on X (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “A model for the future, this initiative will be scaled across the state to boost innovation and employment.” He also listed significant features of this coworking space. The CM also added that each floor of this coworking space is based on the neurodiversity-friendly concept of ‘Spectra’. This concept has gained recognition globally.

What Is Spectra Concept?
Kerala’s first neurodiversity-friendly coworking space is constructed with a focus on the Spectra concept, making it an ideal place for neurodivergent people. It aims to provide comfortable surroundings to individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, tourette syndrome, and other conditions. Every floor has sensory systems to make the place more comfortable.
While talking to The New Indian Express, Infopark CEO Susanth Kurunthil opened up about the space and said it is flexible. This new project’s prime focus is gig workers, freelancers, multinational companies, IT and IT-related firms, and organisations. He also said that Infopark will soon be the leading choice for businesses that want adaptive, supportive and well-located workspaces in Kochi.
After this space launches successfully, the authorities plan to construct similar centres across the state. This is a major project that people are looking forward to.
