Indian students dreaming of studying at UK universities but not wanting to leave their families and home behind, can rejoice. In a major boost to India-UK educational ties, nine campuses from the United Kingdom will soon open in India. This decision follows the Free Trade Agreement between the two nations. The news was also shared by @BJP4India on their official X account.
The tweet also mentioned that the University of Southampton was recently inaugurated in Gurugram and the first students have already taken admission. PM Narendra Modi called it a matter of great joy and described the decision as the largest and most influential move in the education sector so far.
List Of Nine UK Universities
As per a report by The Free Press Journal, here is the official list of the universities, with one already operational:
- University of Southampton-Gurugram (already operational)
- University of Liverpool-Bengaluru
- University of York-Mumbai
- University of Aberdeen-Mumbai
- University of Bristol-Mumbai
Until now, only these five names have been revealed. It is expected that the remaining universities’ names will be made public soon.
Opening British universities in India strengthens UK-India ties and offers several other benefits:
