Viral Post Shows Bengaluru Footpaths Vs Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul; Netizens: “Most Indian Cities Are Like This”

Bengaluru Footpaths In Comparison With Global Locations

Bengaluru is one of the most developed cities in India. The city is home to several multinational companies, tech-savvy enthusiasts and plays a crucial role in the country’s growth. However, it has recently gained attention for something the nation would not be proud of.

An X user (@macroschema) recently took to social media to compare the city’s roadside pavements with famous global locations like Istanbul, Amsterdam, and Paris. While the pavements in these international cities appeared spacious and much cleaner, the Bengaluru photo showed a path full of dirt and potholes, making it unsafe for pedestrians. This post has sparked a debate among the users, and many have dropped their reactions in the comment sections.

Mixed Reactions From Netizens

The recent post on X (formerly Twitter) has quickly gained the attention of online users. Many have shared images of different locations, while some are pointing out that other Indian cities are in an even worse condition.

One user wrote, “You can add Delhi as well. Roads, footpaths in Delhi, except the Lutyens zone, are completely damaged.”

Another user wrote, “The local authorities don’t not what a footpath is in India.”

One user commented, “Why go to Europe for this comparison? Just look at our nearby neighbours like Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia.”

Another X user wrote, “I don’t know how long you have lived in Bengaluru. Bad footpaths are issues at places that you showed looked like a desolate place behind a Majestic Railway Station.”

Some users also dropped pictures in the comment section, like a man throwing the garbage at the side of the road, highlighting the lack of civic sense in people is the reason for this issue.
