Kashmir’s New Revolving Restaurant Sits At 14,000 Feet!
When we talk about tourism in India, Jammu and Kashmir is one place that often comes to mind. Its beautiful valleys are something many of us wish to see. Now, the region has one more attraction to boast about. The world’s highest revolving restaurant is now officially open in Gulmarg, on the Apharwat Peak. It sits at a height of nearly 14,000 feet and offers stunning 360-degree panoramic views of the Himalayas.
Imagine sitting inside a restaurant surrounded by snow-clad mountains, sharing conversations with your close ones, and holding a steaming cup of Kashmiri Kahwa. Add piping hot Kashmiri delicacies to the table, and the experience feels complete. The restaurant rotates slowly and has a cosy vibe that makes it feel like a winter wonderland. The revolving restaurant was inaugurated on Saturday by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The space is not just a restaurant. It can also be used as a conference or meeting hall.

A Dining Experience Amid The Himalayas
The venue promises a dining experience like no other. While revolving restaurants exist in many parts of the world, few can match one set at this altitude in Kashmir. Kashmir already enjoys a strong tourism industry. With this new addition, the number of visitors is expected to rise further. Many travellers looking for new experiences are expected to add this restaurant to their bucket lists. After all, who would want to miss the chance to enjoy coffee, tea, or snacks at 14,000 feet, and that too surrounded by the Himalayas?
Apart from the restaurant, Gulmarg now also has Asia’s longest ski drag at Kongdori. It stretches across 750 metres and was built in a record five months. Both the world’s highest revolving restaurant and Asia’s longest ski drag are expected to give a major boost to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
