Amrut Distilleries in Bengaluru, known for its single malt whiskey, has now achieved a historic milestone. In the 2025 list of Drinks International’s ‘World’s Most Admired Whiskies’, the beverage company secured the 27th position. The 2025 ranks mark great progress for Amrut. In 2023, it secured 43rd position and 40th position in 2024.

It’s a celebratory moment for Amrut as it’s the only Indian distillery that got featured in the Top 30 of this prestigious ‘World’s Most Admired Whiskies.’ A few whiskey brands lost their position in the list despite being well-known, which makes Amrut’s achievement stand out. This achievement highlights India’s progress in the world whisky map.

Amrut in Bengaluru moved up from 43rd position to 27th position in just two years. It reflects the brand’s global recognition, fan following, and industry respect. The whiskey company places a keen focus on visionary craftsmanship, innovation, and meeting quality standards. The brand’s high-quality single malt whiskey is so good that it has already made its place in the world’s top whiskey-producing countries, such as Scotland, Ireland, and Japan. These countries top the list of the global whiskey-producing nations.

Amrut Distilleries Aims To Secure Top 5 Position

Drinks International’s list is one of the most respected rankings in the global beverage world. This list is prepared by whiskey enthusiasts, journalists, bartenders, and industry professionals worldwide. Securing a place in the list marks one of the historic achievements for any whiskey brand.

On the Amrut achievement, Rakshit N Jagdale, Managing Director of Amrut Distilleries, was elated to see Amrut Distilleries on the list. He said, “To represent India in the Top 30 is a remarkable honour and a signal of our country’s rising influence on the global whisky stage.” He also expects that with extraordinary releases like the Expedition 15-year-old single malt, the company can reach the top 5.
