“Chef’s Invention Or Bad Day In Kitchen?” Beetroot Payasam In Buffet Leaves Comedian Puzzled; Netizens React

beetroot payasam

Payasam is one of the most famous desserts in South India. From being a part of wedding celebrations and festive menus to being served as prasadam, you will find this sweet dish at all major occasions. However, the internet was recently surprised to see the beetroot version of payasam, and a comedian took to his social media handle to mock the dish. Scroll on to see the video and internet’s reaction to it.

Comedian’s Hilarious Reaction To Beetroot Payasam

Comedian Saikiran (@jestsaikiran), known for his stand-up acts and funny social media videos, shared a hilarious Instagram video after spotting ‘beetroot payasam’ at a buffet. He made fun of it and posted the video with the caption, “Which other vegetables should become payasam?” The video begins with him saying, “Just discovered beetroot payasam. I don’t know when beetroot entered the payasam market. I thought it was comfortably sitting with a carrot in the halwa market.”

He jokingly rants, “Probably carrot also had no idea that beetroot slightly and strategically shifted to the payasam market. I don’t know if this was some chef’s special invention or if it was just a bad day in the kitchen and the halwa they were making did not solidify correctly.”

The comedian added that maybe something went wrong with the halwa, and they decided to rename it as payasam, and told us to brace ourselves for witnessing the beetroot payasam in the buffet. It was hilarious to see how, with a serious face, he made fun of this “unique” dish.

Saikiran’s videos have always kept viewers entertained, and this one, too, went viral across the internet. People were amazed to see this payasam variety and hilariously dropped the names of other veggies that they would like to see payasam made from, of course, mockingly!

One user commented, “Even tender coconut payasam.. it can at the best be called milkshake, not payasam.”

Another user added, “Read of onion in payasam in old Bengali literature.”

One user wrote, “At my in-laws they make bottle gourd payasam/kheer. It’s horror.”

One netizen wrote, “Pumpkin spice payasam, please”
