Orange Posset: The Viral Dessert That’s Everyone’s New Favourite
Just when we open our social media feed, we’re suddenly flooded with reels of the latest viral Instagram dessert, Orange Posset. The dessert is trending for its minimal ingredients and super-quick 15-minute preparation time. Yes, just 15 minutes! So, how could we not try it?
Ingredients:
- Oranges
- Fresh cream
- Vanilla essence
- Sugar
Here’s the process:
1. I started with 4 oranges and carefully removed the juicy pulp from inside, making sure I didn’t damage the outer peel (who knows, I might need them later).
2. Then I crushed the pulp properly and strained it in a separate bowl to get fresh orange juice.
3. After that, I took the zest of one orange and mixed it nicely with ⅓ cup of sugar.
4. Next, I poured fresh cream and vanilla essence into this sugar and zest mixture and placed it on the stove to heat.
5. Once the mixture heated up and started to slightly thicken (making sure it didn’t boil too much), I poured in about ¼ cup of the fresh orange juice.
6. Then I let the mixture cool down for a bit.
7. And here’s the aesthetic touch, instead of throwing away the orange peels, I used them to serve this delicious dessert, just like the trend.
8. Finally, I poured the mixture into the orange peels and kept them in the fridge until they were nicely set.

Was It Worth It?
After letting the dessert sit in the fridge for about five hours, I honestly couldn’t wait to take a bite. Spoon in hand, I was fully ready to dig in. And the moment I took the first bite, I was hit with that fresh orange flavour balanced perfectly with the creamy richness of the fresh cream.
I made sure the dessert wasn’t overly sweet; it was just right. Every bite had that perfect burst of orange and cream together. During the process, I did add a little extra vanilla essence, which gave it a slightly stronger aroma. But honestly? I loved it, though it was quite noticeable in the aftertaste.
And here’s the best part, this viral Instagram dessert took barely 15 minutes to prepare (excluding the chilling time). Definitely a solid 10/10 from my side.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab some oranges and try this trend yourself!
