Mumbaikars love trying new restaurants, and the year 2025 gave us plenty of reasons to do that. From nostalgic kitchens finding new life to destinations that feel straight out of storybooks, the city once again proved why it remains a hotspot for food lovers. Whether it’s our continued love for South Indian classics or high-concept dinner theatre, this city delivered dishes that were absolutely worth the hype. I’ve eaten, observed, chatted up locals and visitors, and yes, waited in queues. So, here’s my take on the top 20 restaurants in Mumbai that stole hearts (and stomachs) this year.
Top 20 Restaurants In Mumbai Launched In 2025
1. Benne
South Indian food lovers will agree when I say we waited for Benne dosa to travel from Bangalore to Mumbai like it was destiny. So when it finally arrived in 2025, it felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a genie granting a long-held wish. Crisp and unapologetically buttery, the dish is hard to explain in just a few words. It’s not just food, it’s a feeling, and somehow, it’s never quite enough. The indulgent dosa quickly became our favourite, and now we’re always looking for an excuse to head back to Benne in Mumbai, because once is never enough.
