Delhi Airport Earns A Spot Among World’s Busiest Airports
As per Airports Council International (ACI), Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport witnessed 78,148,081 passengers in 2025. With this rising number, Delhi Airport ranked 11th globally on the world’s top 20 busiest airports list. As per NDTV, earlier, in 2024, this airport handled 77.8 million passengers, which means there was a 0.42% rise in passenger traffic year-on-year.
For this data, ACI counts people who arrive at and leave an airport, but if a passenger is only changing flights there, they are counted once instead of twice. This makes it easier to compare passenger numbers at different airports around the world.
