India’s most used food platform, Swiggy, recently released the report showcasing how India celebrated Valentine’s Day with romantic gestures, great social settings and spontaneous dine-out dates. And guess what? You will be shocked to know how much a person spent on Valentine’s Day.

What Does The Swiggy Valentine’s Day Trend Say?

As per the report, metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and Hyderabad remained at the top spot with the highest bookings in the country. Not only have they, but many emerging cities have also seen a growth in dine-outs, like Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh, recording maximum bookings.

Other cities, like Surat (180% of bookings), Vadodara (155%), and Bhubaneswar (145.5%), recorded the highest booking growth as compared to last Saturday.

Well, this is not the shocking part. A customer from Mumbai redefined Valentine’s Day with a single bill of ₹1,30,155, marking it the highest in the country. Valentine’s Day was not just celebrated by couples, but a massive group of 30 diners in Mumbai celebrated the occasion together, marking the largest single booking in the country. As per Swiggy, the platform observed the highest number of transactions between 10 pm and 11 pm.

Fine dining soared by 121.3% YoY; pubs, bars and lounges remain the first choice for people. Fine dining witnessed an explosive growth, and hubs like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi led the booking for the experience on Valentine’s Day.

How Much Did Customers Save Using Swiggy Dineout?

Swiggy also revealed how much customers saved using the platform. They enjoyed heavy savings through Swiggy Dineout’s offers and discounts. Together, India saved over ₹6 crore through the platform. A single customer from Pune enjoyed 60% savings on their total bill, while a customer in Bengaluru enjoyed a 50% discount.

Perhaps one of the most trending things that was witnessed this year was spontaneous planning. Around 66% of the bookings on February 14th, 2026, were made within two hours of the booking slots.
