Gorakhpur Gets Sweeter As Yogi Adityanath & Ravi Kishan Join The Hazelnut Factory Launch

Gorakhpur has a new place to discuss over coffee, and this one arrived with a rather impressive opening-day guest list. The Hazelnut Factory has opened its 24th outlet in Gorakhpur, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurating the new space. Gorakhpur MP and actor Ravi Kishan was also present, giving the launch plenty of star power. The inauguration took place on September 23. But once the photographs with the dignitaries are out of the way, there is a much more interesting story happening behind those doors; Gorakhpur has a new café where coffee, contemporary mithai, bakery treats and a slightly fancy dessert obsession can coexist under one roof.

So, What Exactly Is The Hazelnut Factory?

If you walk into The Hazelnut Factory expecting a conventional mithai shop, the interiors might make you reconsider. The Lucknow-born brand has built its identity around a hybrid format that brings together a café, sweet shop and luxury bakery. 

Its whole premise is essentially…take the things Indians already love, give them a contemporary makeover and put them alongside good coffee.

The menu stretches across handcrafted sweets, desserts, cookies, savouries, coffee and gifting boxes. The brand’s website particularly highlights its ‘Labon’ range, where the richness of an Indian laddoo meets the neat, polished shell of a French bonbon. The flavours include combinations such as pistachio and hazelnut, as well as French cranberry and white chocolate. 

And then there is the Lebanese-Indian baklava, which is hand-layered and has become another part of the brand’s fusion-led identity.

The Gorakhpur Opening Was A Big Moment

The presence of CM Yogi Adityanath at the inauguration put the new outlet firmly in the spotlight. Reports from the opening said the Chief Minister toured the establishment and looked at its range of food offerings. Ravi Kishan, who represents Gorakhpur in the Lok Sabha, was also present. 

For the eatery itself, though, the bigger takeaway is its expansion.

The Hazelnut Factory began in Lucknow and has since been building a footprint across North India. Its own account of the journey describes the move from Lucknow into other Uttar Pradesh cities and eventually beyond the state. 

That expansion also received a major corporate push in 2024, when Bikaji Foods acquired a 53.02% stake in The Hazelnut Factory for ₹131 crore, making it part of Bikaji’s expansion into the QSR space. 

Now, Gorakhpur gets its own THF! 

With its blue-toned interiors, glowing pendant lights, dessert counters and a menu that refuses to choose between a mithai shop and café, The Hazelnut Factory is clearly pitching itself as more than a place to grab a cup of coffee.

And after an inauguration attended by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Ravi Kishan, the 24th outlet has already had its grand entrance. So, when are you visiting this new place?
