Dinner Rush And Sweet Cravings
The Swiggy app was busier than ever during the dinner hours on Raksha Bandhan, between 8 and 9 PM. The platform saw average orders of over 4,650 per minute during this hour, clocking the highest order count of 5,500 orders per minute. Compared to last year, in 2025, the food delivery app saw a 28% jump in orders during peak hour. Not only this, but the number of first-time users went up by 20%, showing that during festivals people prefer to order food online and enjoy time with their family.
When it’s Raksha Bandha, sweets are mandatory, and Swiggy order data just proved that. The app data shows that sweet orders surged by 36.7% this year. Among all sweet orders, Kaju Kalti was at the top with Bangalore showing most love! The other star players were various types of cakes, including milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate.
With this data, we can say that people are celebrating old traditions with modern technology. With a food delivery platform, people don’t have to visit stores and get everything they need at their doorstep. Which sweet did you enjoy this Rakhi? Let us know in the comments.
