Chef Nikunj Agarwal (@nikunjgram), who also participated in MasterChef, shared a recipe for Burnt Basque Toast. In the Instagram reel, he says, “If you’re too lazy to make a cheesecake but still craving for it, then look no further. This burnt toast tastes the same as burnt Basque.” 

In the video, he took a bite of his unique Burnt Basque Toast, and his reaction makes us want to try it as well. For this dish, he simply cooked a handful of ingredients and cheese to make a lush spread, and it comes together with minimal effort. He moved effortlessly and confidently, looking like someone who knew exactly what he was doing, and we can’t wait to try out this recipe as well.

Here’s How You Can Make It At Home

The ingredients required for this delicious recipe aren’t something that will make you go from one store to another. They are readily available in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  1. Bread
  2. Milk
  3. Butter
  4. Salt
  5. Sugar
  6. Corn flour
  7. Cheese

Method

  1. In a pan, and add 1 tablespoon of butter, and let it melt on low heat. 
  2. Then, add a pinch of salt and pour 150ml of milk and keep stirring it occasionally.
  3. Add the desired amount of sugar and stir it until it starts to dissolve.
  4. Then take 1 tablespoon of corn flour and mix it well in the milk.
  5. For a cheesy burst, add 30g of cheese and stir it well for a smooth and tasty sauce.
  6. Make sure you mix all the ingredients well to avoid lumps.
  7. After you’re done preparing the batter, spread it on a piece of bread and air fry it for 15 minutes. 
  8. That’s it! Your delicious Burnt Basque Toast is ready.
